Newbie needs to know which Xbox to get for this game

Question

I purchased the Madden 25 XBOX SERIES X/XBOX ONE package from Amazon, but I don't know if I got the correct thing. I want to buy an Xbox Series S for a friend. Will the software I bought work on an Series S? What's in the box -- it sounds like a disc, but I don't want to open it up if you can't run a disc on the Series S.

Sorry, but I'm clueless and just need some help.

As you suspect, the Series S console does not have a disc drive so a physical copy of the game will not be compatible.
