Madden Crashes on Splash Screen

Issue Summary

  • Problem: Madden NFL 25, purchased and launched via Steam, fails to start properly. The EA App briefly opens with a message: "Some Features have been disabled because the EA app Launched from another application", then returns to the EA App home screen. After each failed attempt, verifying game files in Steam always reports 3 files missing, even if reacquired in previous attempts.

Steps Taken to Resolve

  1. Validated Steam Files:

    • Verified the game files repeatedly, but Steam always reports 3 files missing after each failed launch.

  2. Performed Clean Installs:

    • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled both Madden and the EA App.
    • Deleted residual files from the installation directories before reinstalling.

  3. Checked Account Linkage:

    • Verified Steam and EA accounts were linked correctly, including unlinking and re-linking them.

  4. Granted Permissions:

    • Set Madden and EA App folders to Full Control for the user account.
    • Launched both Madden and the EA App as Administrator.

  5. Disabled Overlays and Firewalls:

    • Disabled the EA App overlay and ensured Steam's overlay was off.
    • Added exceptions for the EA App, Madden, and Steam in the Windows Firewall.

  6. Adjusted Compatibility:

    • Forced Madden to run in Windows 7/8 Compatibility Mode.

  7. Repaired Anti-Cheat:

    • Reinstalled the anti-cheat system (EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher) from the Madden installation folder.

  8. Monitored Logs:

    • Observed that Link2EA.exe and EASteamProxy.exe launch momentarily, but Madden fails to stay running.

    ^^^ This is my best guess after the last day or so of troubleshooting with friends, ChatGPT and EA support.

    Thanks for following up with us on this. It's good to hear that you're able to launch the game again! 

    We did make some changes last night that look to have fixed the issue that was causing this to happen. I haven't heard if there are any plans for a make-good. If I do see any news on that I'll follow up here and let you know.

    Madden 25 keeps crashing when I try launching and then a ''the app crashed unexpectedly'' report pops up and forces me to restart the app. I can launch madden on others accounts, just not this one, which means it's an account problem and not the system. I've tried clearing cache, restarting the app, redownloading the game etc., but it keeps crashing. A few months ago the game worked fine but now it won't. I played through a 10 hour free trial and suspect that may be causing issues on the account, but unsure.

    Summarize your bug Every time I boot up the game it crashes after splash screen and just goes back to EA app, I believe this is an issue somehow with my cloud save because not only does it happen on my laptop, it happens on my desktop pc at home. I have tried repairing the app, reinstalling ea anticheat, running it in compatibility mode and as administrator, fully uninstalling every ea game with revo uninstaller. Literally everything. I think its my cloud save because its happening on 2 different computers and EA Sports FC 25 boots up perfectly fine. Not sure what to do now.

    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Boot up the game on a fully amd pc? I dont know if this happens to anybody else
    What happens when the bug occurs? The game crashes and goes back to ea app
    What do you expect to see? the game boot normally

    I closed my game last night, logged back in around midnight and have had the same issue.... If I try t force EAAntiCheatService open I get error Code 87 Parameters Incomplete or incompatible

    @bnagle34 I havent even recieved a single error code yet, only the one message for like 1 frame when EA app is reloading, besides that no codes on my end yet :/

    I am having the same issue and have attempted the same fixes with no success. Issue first started on 11/22/24 sometime after 3:00pm EST.
