Madden Crashes on Splash Screen
Issue Summary
- Problem: Madden NFL 25, purchased and launched via Steam, fails to start properly. The EA App briefly opens with a message: "Some Features have been disabled because the EA app Launched from another application", then returns to the EA App home screen. After each failed attempt, verifying game files in Steam always reports 3 files missing, even if reacquired in previous attempts.
Steps Taken to Resolve
Validated Steam Files:
- Verified the game files repeatedly, but Steam always reports 3 files missing after each failed launch.
Performed Clean Installs:
- Fully uninstalled and reinstalled both Madden and the EA App.
- Deleted residual files from the installation directories before reinstalling.
Checked Account Linkage:
- Verified Steam and EA accounts were linked correctly, including unlinking and re-linking them.
Granted Permissions:
- Set Madden and EA App folders to Full Control for the user account.
- Launched both Madden and the EA App as Administrator.
Disabled Overlays and Firewalls:
- Disabled the EA App overlay and ensured Steam's overlay was off.
- Added exceptions for the EA App, Madden, and Steam in the Windows Firewall.
Adjusted Compatibility:
- Forced Madden to run in Windows 7/8 Compatibility Mode.
Repaired Anti-Cheat:
- Reinstalled the anti-cheat system (EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher) from the Madden installation folder.
Monitored Logs:
- Observed that Link2EA.exe and EASteamProxy.exe launch momentarily, but Madden fails to stay running.

Thanks for following up with us on this. It's good to hear that you're able to launch the game again!
We did make some changes last night that look to have fixed the issue that was causing this to happen. I haven't heard if there are any plans for a make-good. If I do see any news on that I'll follow up here and let you know.
