Unable to join the session as all players were not on the latest version

We are both playing on xbox series x
I'd like to voice serious disappointment with his too. We are both on Xbox series versions and we spent a combined $180 on MUT to play as we only play together. MUT Squads doesn't work, Superstar KO doesn't work, we can't even play solo challenges co-op!!! Very disappointing.
To the original poster... Do you two game share? My friend and I do, wondering if it is some weird licensing issue?? We've never had a problem before.
Yes we share, but have never had this issue before as well
