Matchmaking in H2H Ranked

I made Hero 1 in the previous ranked season on Madden 25. After playing 16 games and asking a handful of my opponents, it seems I'm only playing players in that specific rank. Not how matchmaking should work, right?

Edit as of 11/10/24. I am in Silver 3 and matched up against 2 of the Top 100 players in back to back games. Have contacted EA support twice about this issue and they have provided zero help. Guess I just can't play Ranked this season?

Edit as of 11/11/24. Still playing players 3-5 ranks higher than I am in a "skill based" game mode. Also am no longer able to chat with EA support. 

Edit as of 11/12/24. Queued into a game just to see. Top 100 player. Still Silver 3. 

Edit as of 11/13/24. No change. 

Edit as of 11/17/24. No change, just don't feel the need to edit this everyday. EA isn't gonna help me anyways.

Edit as of 11/25/24. Patch didn't fix it. I'm crying wolf apparently.
