Connected Franchise - Coordinator Lockout

In my Connected Franchise, one user retired their head coach, which correctly made their team revert to CPU control. However, instead of generating a new coach for the CPU team, the game automatically hired my Defensive Coordinator away from my team (likely because I am 16–1 and the “best available” coordinator).

Now, every time I attempt to play my next game, I receive the error:

“Can not play game until team hires defensive coordinator.”

The issue: Madden does not allow hiring/firing coordinators mid-season — that option only unlocks in the offseason. As a result, I am completely stuck and cannot continue playing, while the rest of the league can.
