This is garbage. EA used to be at a higher standard, especially with the Madden series. We can complain about modes and features, but the game simply needs to work.
- The game freezes on a loading screen after games and training sessions in Superstar more than 50% of the time. I eventually get to a blank menu screen and nothing further happens, leaving my only option to restart the game. Luckily my progress has been saved each time.
- On more than a dozen occasions, while running “hurry up” offense, one of two issues occurred; I cannot hike the ball after selecting a play, or the ball hikes and my QB sprints backwards in a straight line, each time fumbling for a defensive score.
- My player grade is decreased after the game ends. Bonus tasks such as “End the game with a B+ rating or higher” is completed, but grayed out on after game menu.
- it’s frustrating trying to read the right side of the Superstar menu when there are constant pop ups for credits and awards that don’t stop blocking that side of the screen.
- you have to blindly navigate the Character and Skills menus because of similar prompts to the above taking up the entire screen.
honestly, these simple issues are just frustrating and lead to an annoying experience in an otherwise great game. Seriously, I can design a much more intuitive system layout in five minutes. One that wouldn’t require loading scenes every time you agent wants to commend you on being named Offensive Player of the Week that cannot be skipped. I mean, the Sphere of Influence even has profiles circles overlapping the bottom menu. SERIOUSLY? What is the user design team doing? Bugs are one thing, but menu flaws? These are some elementary mistakes.
I hope EA thanks me for writing their task list for their next update.
