Missing greyed out effect on unavailable play art
I'm writing to bring attention to a regression in Madden 26 that is causing real problems for Online Franchise Mode.
My league uses the "Play Limit" feature. In Madden 25 and earlier, when a play was banned for the rest of the game or has a cool down, two things happened:
- The button icon (Triangle, Square, etc.) was removed.
- The play art itself was greyed out.
In Madden 26, the second, and much more important, visual indicator is gone. Now, only the icon is removing. The play art itself looks perfectly normal, and it's a real issue.
Why this is a problem:
In a fast-paced game, we rely on quick visual recognition. The greyed-out play art was an instant, clear signal that a play was off-limits. Without it, it's too easy to accidentally select a play that's already banned. This actually happened to me in a critical game: I picked a banned defense play near my own end zone, the game picked suggested play (Field Block Left !omg!) and it resulted in an easy touchdown for my opponent. It's frustrating to lose not because of a football decision, but because of a UI feature that worked perfectly before is now missing.
This change is a step backwards for competitive play in leagues.
