Strange unchangeable substitutions for player and cpu teams in franchise mode

Starting today when I play my franchise mode game, the opposing team starting receiver plays the entire game on offense, defense, and special teams. They deploy back up quarterbacks and lineman at wide receiver instead of the usual receivers. Tight end is also a back up lineman. At the same time my defense is strictly backups unless I go into prevent defense where I have enough cornerbacks on the field to need the starters. When I’m on offense, one position starter will never play in a game.  Seems to be random. Usually either tight end or running back. The cpu defense seems to be full starters besides their top receiver replacing a cornerback. This is not a wear & tear, injury, or substitution issue as I’ve turned off injuries and wear & tear and also do have not once touched the substitution screen as I want all starters all the time. The opposing kicker will be a lineman, and their punter will be the kicker instead.
