Multi-user team offline franchise coach XP

Wondering if there is something I'm missing or if it's another bug....

I play strictly offline franchise (Eagles), and I like to add user teams whenever a coach is fired and add the new one (IE Titans, Giants so far). I'll also take over teams like the Jets to prevent the CPU from firing coaches that I think will get another year even with their crappy records. I'd take over the Fins too this year most likely, and dump some players as I suspect they'll do in the offseason as they reboot. I'll run them on autopilot for the most part except around the draft, preseason cuts, etc. 

Anyhoo, when I took over the Titans after Callahan was fired, I noticed that my primary team stopped getting weekly XP progression for the coach. I tried without autopilot as well but now it's robbing me of unlocks etc. 

Anyone know a way around this?
