Why cant you play as a women

According to USA today 47% of NFL fans are women, thats nearly half. if you look at a sport like baseball the percentage of female fans is around 39%, With the NBA its 39% and the WNBA its around 44%, the popular games for both those sports, MLB the show, and NBA 2k have some kind of mode to play as a women, to appeal to what is nearly half of there fanbase, but madden and CFB have nothing. I cant speak for the franchise mode because I've only played the road to the show in MLB the Show, but in MLB the show 24 and 25 you can customize and play as a female player and play in the league alongside the men. Do I think we will ever have women playing along side men in the MLB? No, but they still put it in the game, i could not find definitive percentages of how many women played mlb the show but 50 percent of all gamers world wide are women and women are taking an increasing interest in sports worldwide as well. Dont you think they should capitalize on the increased popularity of football among women and try to pull in a wider audience towards the game? From a purely marketing standpoint I dont see the point in just ignoring that entire half of the fanbase.

I know there were a few female models for coaches in madden 25, im really worried about them possibly taking them out, in the trailer all the coaches seemed to be the same as cfb 26 which doesnt have any female coaches. But female coach models in the previous madden game was a great start even just some more variation of female coach models, or long hair for custom players would be great

  • Exactly, with half of gamers being women, it makes sense to add character creation options that reflect not only the fanbase, but also the people around us, so you can make anyone you like in the game.

I haven't played MLB the show, but it was great to see the options in NBA 2K and Madden 25. Just looking at the franchise deep dive for Madden 26, it shows 6 of 200 new coach heads. The ones shown there and in the trailer are masculine, but I really hope they don't go a step backwards with 26 by excluding women.

  • Yes, Please add some customizable women cheerleaders, watergirls, and mascots!

You're right, it would be great to see more features similar to the older madden games, where you can customise fans. Adittionally being able to customise mascots would mean that we could change the human mascots, just like in real life e.g. with the WVU  Mountaineer, or Texas Tech's Masked rider.

  • That won't happen until women play in the NFL. The game is based on today's NFL, not the fanbase. Sorry to say that's just the way it is.

  • There are female coach models in 26 saw them on Franchise mode.

Other EA Sports games have included women player options, so why not the CFB series?

  • Bringing a true women’s tackle football mode into Madden would have to start with building an entirely new game around a separate organization rather than simply re-skinning the NFL playbooks. EA couldn’t just swap helmets and jerseys and call it a day you’d need licensing deals with established women’s leagues like the Women’s Football Alliance or the Women’s National Football Conference, complete with team names, logos, uniforms and real player likenesses. Only by grounding the experience in an actual competitive framework can the gameplay, story arcs and off-field progression feel authentic rather than tacked on.

Those leagues already exist and have grown steadily over the last decade. The WFA fields more than sixty full-contact teams across the United States, and the WNFC launched in 2019 with a vision to “create the standard of excellence and opportunities” for women in the sport. Even the X League formerly the Lingerie Football League has bounced back as an indoor variation, but all of them struggle for mainstream awareness. These women’s football organizations are passionate and dedicated, yet they occupy a niche that most sports fans have never encountered.

Part of the reason is that televised coverage for women’s tackle football remains fragmented and minimal. You can find regular season WNFC games free on Victory+, or catch the X League on local streaming feeds, but there is no Sunday afternoon slot on a major broadcast network, no ESPN made feature packages and certainly no primetime playoff window. Without those media partnerships, sponsors and casual viewers never get exposed to the athletes and storylines, which in turn makes console developers and their CFOs hesitant to back a full-blown game mode on a multimillion dollar budget
