EA Competition

Truth.  Any bad blood belongs between the white lines and gets settled on the field.  When we play, I'm gonna hit him like I hate him, then shake hands at the end.  LIKE SPORTSMAN SHOULD!  In that, our purposes are congruent.  

Where we differ is in our philosophy (and in that, not as much as it seems).  We cannot, as a community that plays a competitive game, resort to assuming energetic competitive trash talk automatically rises to the level of animosity.  Furthermore, we should also NEVER cultivate an environment where whining after losing is an acceptable response.  

IMO, Any community that validates failures is the enemy of progress and removes not only the incentive to improve, but also the possibility.  Given two players, the one that gets better is the one that learns lessons from failure - NEVER the one that makes excuses.  "The game is the problem because _____" is the surest recipe to fail over and over again, into perpetuity.  The guys that made excuses in Madden 2004 are still making excuses in Madden 2026; likewise, the people making excuses in 2026 will be making excuses in 2046, '56. 66, 76...  But they guy that isn't making excuses can get better IMMEDIATELY, without EA's help.  

Most people do no agree with my opinion, but I've held it long enough to feel comfortable that my perspective is the only reason I'm better today than I was 20 years ago, and GOD willing, expect to be even better 20 years from now.  Not just at Madden, every area of life. 

Learning from mistakes starts with recognizing I'm capable of making them.  

What Mally103rd​ and I have in common is our shared frustration when we lose BECAUSE we believe we should win because we give thought to our game plan and execution.  

That said...  I still owe him a whoopin' that I intend on delivering.  😝
