Fix body types for generated players (QBs)
First of all, THANK YOU, EA for removing that god awful, uneditable "Tight spiral" trait. The new trait system is much better in my opinion.
Sadly, there is still an issue for me who is a franchise player and someone that values immersion and details very highly.
What this post is about though is QBs. It's so close to be good but this is something that has annoyed me for several years now! PLEASE reduce the size/bulk of the generated QB prospects or at least give us more freedom to fully edit their size and build.
I was so excited to see that a new "body type" template was available but it didn't really fix the issue (taking a bulky QB prospect from "standard" to "thin" just made him dumpy and gave him huge calfs).
I recently started a franchise with the Giants and drafted a 6'3 206 lbs QB (scrambler). After the draft I went to check him out and compare him to Jaxson Dart. Despite Dart being about 15 lbs heavier and 1 inch shorter, my darfted guy looked like he was AT LEAST 20 pounds heavier than Dart.
This has been a problem for several years that the QB prospects just look way to bulky and big in comparison to the excisting QBs. A quick fix would be to just reduce the size of those standard builds, however the best solution for me and other franchise players would be to have more body type models depending on size etc. You can even use exciting QBs to model them after. For example:
Light weight scramblers (200-219 lbs) - Model them after Jayden Daniels, Lamar or Kyler etc
Prototypical QBs 220-229 - Model these after Joe Burrow, Mahomes, Jalen Hurts etc
Athletic big guys (230-240) Model them after Josh Allen, Justin Herbet etc
Bulky passers (230-240) Model them after Dak, Brissett, Jameis etc
Heavy Power guys (240+) Model them after Anthony Richardson (or Cam Newton) etc.
These are juts some examples, but my point is, using these types of builds as a benchmark or a guide of what generated QBs could look like depending on their stats etc. If a 6'3, 206 lbs QB gets drafted, then maybe his body build should look more like Jayden Daniels than it should look like Josh Allen's. If a generated prospect matches certain criterias (weight, archetype etc) then he gets body model X which is based on a player who fits the description, if he matches another set of criterias he will get body type Y who fits that description etc. Either use the body types of excisting players or make custom body types that mimic those body types at least and has the same size and general build.
I've been hoping for years now that this would be tweaked but no such luck. So here I am, hoping that someone at EA will see this and that there are others who feel the same way. It's a small detail to some but to people who really value immersion, things like these are huge and would add so much if they just got fixed.
