Genuine question, why is it hard for Madden to be a good game at launch?

I have never played a game where every year we  have to wait for update after update (still waiting for the first real update this year) for the game to be remotely enjoyable. How does a supposed AAA title game have so many issues every year in 2025? Lack of talent? Lack of effort? Lack of vision? All the above? As others have said, by the time they supposedly fix everything, we're already looking to the future for the next release. It's sickening.

I won't repeat all the issues that have already been mentioned, but I will say, I will never understand how a billion dollar company can't have every player scanned into the game. There are numerous superstars who have been in the league for years and have no player likeness. How is that possible? Every year there are so many issues from franchise mode, create a player, player likeness, to gameplay. Get it together EA!

  • EA doesn't care about making a great NFL game anymore. That care died with John Madden.

They are only interested in selling the game and selling all the add-on packs and players.

As long as we keep buying garbage, they (and the league & players they pay for the rights) will keep producing garbage.

Like all other "sports" these days, it is all about getting our money.

I mean...this is definitely half correct at the least. I might agree that upper management probably does only care about the revenue and selling garbage as long as they profit. However, I really do think the ground teams like the devs really do care about the product they put out. There's just become an increasing disconnect between the higher and lower echelons of companies the past few years. I've used the movie industry as perfect example of this. Like them or not, Snyder's DC movies are a great example. The suits wanted it their way, while the man with the vision and his people on the ground wind up severely hindered in making what they want because of that. I feel that chasm between the two is really screwing the gaming industry as well.
