How to Fire Coach (Madden 26)

Can anyone help with firing a coach in Franchise mode? I basically would like to have Sean McVay be the coach of another team.

Thanks.

  • Yeah, I was messing around earlier today with this and discovered I could create another coach for any team that I wasn't running/shuffle the deck...put McVay on the Browns, Mike McDaniel on the Vikings.  Just select the team you want to run in order to get the coach you want(current NFL Coaches selection on the far right)...but ALSO once you are into the franchise, tinker around in the coaches menu and "create" for whichever team you want to choose using the same method.  I panicked because at first it looked like I saved over my current franchise with a new one, but all I had to do was back out after it had autosaved and re-entered and Voila!....Coach was on the team I wanted(Said in the news feed even that Stefanski and O'Connell were fired and new coaches hired)

Sorry I am not able to follow this method. Can you please give a break down step by step? I have coach firing set to on in League Settings.
    Thanks
Edit: Some how I was just able to pull this off completely by accident. I have no clue how it worked. I think its bugged right now as there is no clear path to make this work.

  • It would be nice to just have the option patched in to be an owner that way we can control coach firings and moving. I used to love controlling a few different franchises and when a coach was fired such as Robert Saleh last year, I would move them to DC of another team. I don’t care much else about other owner mode features but coach mobility shouldn’t be difficult to add in

I will post a step by step tutorial on how to do this later today.

How to take a real life head coach and put him on another team.

    Step 1:

Select the team you want to trade the head coach to for example if you want to put
Andy Reed on the Rams select the Chiefs.

    Step 2:

Don’t select actual real coach, instead select a coach type and create a custom coach. (This custom coach will replace Andy Reed)

    Step 3

After the custom coach is created scroll over to options/user teams and create a new coach for the team you want to replace Andy Reed on.  In this case select the Rams.

    Step 4

Once you select the Rams create a new custom coach to replace “Sean McVay”

    Step 5

After creating a custom coach for the rams head back to options users teams. You will see two custom coaches for the Chiefs and the Rams. One should say commissioner "Yes". Select the rams created coach and switch back to  that user. Once you are in the Rams profile. Go back to User Settings and select Retire. This will retire the custom coach you created for the Rams and replace him with Andy Reed.

    Step 6

Create a new character and this time select the Rams and choose a real head coach. And Andy Reed will magically be the head coach for the Rams. I know my mind was blown too!

    Step 7

If you want Sean McVay to appear on the chiefs. Repeat the process of selecting the chiefs profile, retire from the league, create a new character and select a real life head coach. And Sean McVay will be the head coach of the chiefs.

This is a 7 step process workaround as there is no fire coach option in Franchise mode. EA if you see this post and need some UX support reach out hire me I’d be happy to help.
