SNIPING IN THE AUCTION HOUSE ?

i will try and make this brief in hopes that one of the EA community mods can shed some light on this. About 2 weeks my main account was coin wiped and banned from the auction house. After 2 appeal denials i realized there was no fighting it cause you just cant beat City Hall right ? So i made a new account which is alsmost up to speed. I dont spend money on the game except at the beginning, i simply cant afford it. So i dont spend money on coins from a 3rd party or any where else for that matter.

EA gave no explanation as to why i was banned only that i was cheating and i did something against the TOS. Ok thats fine but i STILL dont know what i did so every time i cut the game on im gun shy if i will be banned again.

I snipe cards in the auction house. That is how i remain competitive without spending a ton of money. I think most if not all of us snipe cards, since the beginning really. For instance right now i am targeting 82s for 20K or under and then reselling them for 25K. Thats it. The only thing i can think of is i got to doin it so fast that the automated ban sustem EA has must have thought i was some sort of software.

What i want to know from SOMEONE from EA is. Is there some rule against buying cards low and reselling them that at market value ? now i realize this sounda crazy because its the very definition of an auction house ya know. I just want to know what i did wrong so i dont do it again. I just about got this account up to speed and would like NOT to lose it. I cant imagine that work the auction house would be illegal now but it must. Can someone please illuminate this subject.

  • yeah i know everyone just hits YES on TOS when we get the game, that would be a pretty dern sneaky thing to put in the terms of service. I mean that would go against the very definition of an " AUCTION HOUSE ". Kinda like the stock market you buy low and sell high. For those of us that do not spend money it is the ONLY way to remain competitive with the credit card squad. PLaying the game is simply not enough. I have played Madden since the very 1st game came out and i have sniped cards from the beginning.

  • i am trying one thing and so far so good. When i did buy a card i would repost it right then and there as soon as i bought it so i didnt have to leave the AH and i could keep sniping. Now i am sending them to binder and letting them sit for a while before posting them. I shouldnt have to play guessing games though about what i did wrong. It SHOULD be very clear cut. YOU DID THIS, ITS WRONG DO NOT DO IT ! but we never get ANY answers from EA

  • if someone could find that bit of text in TOS though that would be a great starting point

  • langhofdi123 i dont think flipping items right away does anything, but who knows...here is what comes up when utilizing Chat GPT, asking it to review and assess if sniping breaks the TOS   its AI after all, so take it for what its worth, but i thought it was worth sharing

Conclusion & risk assessment...So, is sniping (in the casual sense) against the TOS / rules? Probably not inherently, as long as:

You are doing it manually (no bots or automation).

You’re not using bugs, exploits, or glitches to give yourself an unfair advantage.

You’re not engaging in illicit buying or selling of in-game currency or cards outside EA’s official systems.

    However, there is risk:

EA might consider aggressive or high-volume sniping that borders on “abuse of the marketplace” to violate “fair play” or “unfair advantage” clauses.

If your sniping is part of a third-party tool (such as an auto-buy extension or macro) it’s almost certainly bannable.

EA may interpret some borderline behavior as market manipulations or coin distribution. Some players report bans or coin wipes for what EA calls “coin distribution” (though not necessarily for sniping).

  • " high volume sniping " what exactly is the number on that ? EA give us some answers

  • i think its ridiculous that we are left to our own devices to get any kind of clarity on any of this banning stuff. Google said about the same thing that sniping was not against the TOS

  • Yeah, the rules are purposefully loose so they can avoid litigation - at least that’s how see it. If anyone from EA would respond on the forum, all they would tell you is what’s in the TOS anyway…typical big corporation stuff.

The part that irks me is that it’s clear EA doesn’t have enough staff to produce even somewhat decent customer service. Answering, even if it takes a few days, would be a good starting point.

  • you would think it wouldn't be to much to ask to know EXACTLY what you did to get banned. You know , in order not to do it again , LMAO. Instead every time i cut my PS5 on i wonder if ive done something else to **bleep** off the their ban bot

  • Well looks like EA is being bought out for 50 billion. Lets hope that the new owners believe in customer service so they can fix their broken game
