My work around is to never draft players simply trade away all of your picks and never resign players. Sign free agents after free agency trade for more picks. Then you can acquire the talent with the draft picks without paying a signing bonus of having cap penalties when you move on from players. The goal is to have high draft picks. Also develop wrs qbs and rbs to high 90s to practically trade for anyone

This is the money. Let the commissioner set the rates.

EA_Shepard It's really a perfect concept considering how much I see people request the ability to better adjust contracts/salaries. It would offer the flexibility people are asking for. Idk how much pull you got in getting things added to the game, but this is something that should be a next year/soonest update priority.

GVRH It would change a lot of how you set caps for specific players. You have to give the young ones a chance to come up, but give the veterans time to manage their funds so they dont go under.

Having a slider for it is an excellent idea!

RumOak163 I'm tellin you, increasing it, and let me make changes based on my own game would go a long way. One little slider put in would change the entire way that game is played.

I think because the NFL salary cap the last 5 or so years has increased between around 10 to 25M the madden franchise should also increase our franchise mode salary cap the same. Some years maybe 10M 15M or 17M and some years 23 to 25 maybe even sure surprise us at 30M allowing us to keep or sign more players. But the salary cap is huge element of being a franchise mode owner it ties into managing your roster. But I don’t think the NFL especially owners will ever let the salary cap increase over 30M a year. To much money out of the owners pocket. But my issue is just that madden stop increasing or even decreasing the salary cap in madden franchise after 5 years. Just stays locked at one amount.

I fully agree. So do you think 15-20M is a good place to start on Madden? I had initially though 30-50, do you think that'd be a bit much?

Well in 20-30 years at the rate the NFL salary cap increases about 15M to 20M the madden franchise salary cap like the NFL will be around 700M. Players contracts in madden will just need to continue to increase or the demand from players as will happen in the real world. But at the minimum the salary cap can’t just freeze and not increase in madden.

The Madden franchise salary cap increases yearly only for about 3 or 4 years then never increases after that. Stays at around 330M forever after which is not what will happen in the NFL. The NFL salary cap will increase to eventually probably 400M in 5 years and continue to increase for teams. I think it’s just an oversight by developers to not continue the progression of the madden franchise salary cap every year. So hopefully they make the update one year.
