I’m playing in franchise and every game so far early on in the 3rd quarter my PS5 completely loses power. I have to unplug the power cord and plug it back in and do a complete reset. This has also happened in the 4th quarter twice (after already having reset during the first crash in the 3rd). I’ve never had this issue with any Maddens in the past or any other games, so I am hesitant to think it’s an issue with my PS5 itself. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I am having the same exact issue, and only with this game. Even cleaned out the dust in my console to be sure (which I had done recently so there wasn’t enough to be the main cause of this).

SpartyAJU Brandorambo josh_the_posh Mack_Mittenz Having to disconnect the power cord indicates this is 100% a hardware overheating issue. If cleaning the dust/lint away from the vents, fans and heatsinks does not help, you may need to have the console looked at professionally. Thanks.

Thank you for the response. is there a timeline? It’s been a month since launch and it’s beyond disappointing that we are even at this point.

Just odd that this is the only game it happens with.

Im in franchise and can’t get out of the 1st quarter, ps5 shuts of completely and I have to unplug and plug back up the power cord for ps5 to even work again!! I’m in my second game of regular season, I skipped preseason for the record. My ps5 has never done this, only on Madden26.

Different game, same problem. Only it’s happening with Xbox too. Game will randomly cause the entire console to power off. Can happen within seconds of a game, or into a long session. Console isn’t overheating. Every year at launch both football games have this issue. You’d think you’d know how to fix it by now. Because it obviously gets patched during the year.

Thank you, kinda maddening that they opt to gaslight people instead of just acknowledging there’s an issue. Now that you mention it, I had the SAME issue at launch of CFB 25.

same here and each game that i play in h2h or even events and challenge causes the too hot warning to pop up every time i hope its patched soon

i’m going through the same thing, honestly i’m thinking it’s this ps5 which i’m going to buy a new one tomorrow i even cleaned this base ps5 too still shuts off. every time when i play franchise mode smh
