Can't Call Timeout?

So, I'm trying to do the "Show Off" challenge under study partners and even though I have three time outs shown, it won't let me call timeout, either through the controller, or by pausing. (Timeout isn't even an option in that menu.) Anyone else having that issue? 

Without being able to use the TOs, it's nearly impossible. I had one pass, then kicked the FG (you're down by four) and left myself nearly 1:50 to get the ball back, which I could have done with TOs. Without them, they just ran the clock on me.
