TOTY Winners token

So, I just traded 65 weekly spotlight tokens to get the toty winner token, only to find out the token can't be used in any sets or sold for anything or refunded. Did I just throw away 65 tokens for nothing? How is this still an option after the sets it is used for aren't available anymore??
