Contract Negotiation Indicator Does Not Change

When I enter a contract negotiation of any kind the initial contract that I select does not go through, as the contract indicator in the top left of the screen does not change to my initial offer, instead staying at the default offer. The contracts are updated as I go through the negotiation, but it works off of the default contract, not my chosen initial contract.

REALREDNICEGUY That sounds like a UI issue with the contracts. Has it happened on other franchise files, or do you only have this one? If it is still happening, can we get a video of it, or a screenshot showing where it should be, so we can see what you are seeing?

  • I’ve done some experimentation. I think the salary cap has something to do with it. I tried this with the salary cap off with the Lions, and it did not work, (also, the team needs do not show in the trade center when salary cap is off), when I created a new franchise to turn salary cap on, the negotiation did show properly. Although, strangely, when I tried

Salary cap offSalary Cap offSalary Cap onSalary cap on

this with the Chiefs, the negotiation showed properly, even when salary cap was off.

  • Uploading a video didn’t work, but here’s pictures of before and after I send my initial offers with salary cap on and off with the Lions.

Salary cap offThe contract shown in the top left did not have the animation showing my initial offer, and my initial offer is not used. (This is right after I submitted my offer from the picture above)Salary cap onThe contract in the top left shows the animation changing the default contract into my selected initial contract from the image above, and my selected initial offer is used, salary cap is on, this picture was taken directly after submitting my offer from the picture above.

  • For some reason, I created a new franchise with me controlling all teams to test all teams, and the Lions one works now even with the cap off?

I appreciate this. So this is what I gathered from it, so i can pass it along, and others can see how to "resolve" it for the moment at least:

    • Salary Cap Connection:  Turning the Salary Cap OFF triggers the contract negotiation bug where initial offers are ignored, and the UI animation fails to update.
    • Salary Cap ON Resolution: Creating a new Franchise with the Salary Cap ON resolved the issue for the Lions, allowing the UI contract animation to transition correctly and apply the custom initial offer.
    • Team-Specific Exceptions: The Chiefs' contract negotiations worked correctly even with the Salary Cap turned OFF, suggesting the bug may be team-specific or intermittent. 👈
    • Multi-Team Control Behavior: In a franchise where all teams were controlled, the contract UI suddenly began working correctly for the Lions, even with the Salary Cap turned OFF.
    • Related Trade Center Bug: Turning the Salary Cap OFF also causes team needs to disappear from the Trade Center.
