4k LG TV - Madden 19 - Weird Issue

@Otrees Thanks for the writeup, that definitely sounds strange. I wonder, do you see the same issue if you duplicate across the screen and just turn off the power on your actual main screen?

Another workaround could be to go to the display menu (right-click empty desktop space and choose Display Settings) then try to set your tv as the main monitor?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find in-game settings that could have an effect  on this issue, but if I find anything useful I'll add  it to the thread. 

I cant play Madden 19 on my 4k LG TV. Madden decides to shut HDR off on my TV and causes a purple-ish screen but is clearly still trying to send and HDR signal. I can only play in 1080p which sort of works but displays with Dolby Vision and not HDR10. I can't possibly uninstall or reinstall anything else. Windows is in HDR until Madden turns on and then does its own thing and turns it off. 

Same with my TV, works fine on monitor, but not on TV. I've turned off Nvidia 3d (which worked in the past with other games with this issue, so give it a try) but it does nothing here for me.

I turned off HDR on my Tv as well, but same issues.  Wasted an hour of my trial so far trying to fix this.

I was out of town and didn't see this reply.  

I do not have any other monitor on, as selecting it to display to the 2nd screen only turns off my main monitor. I believe this is an issue with LG TVs and HDR.   I have seen other reports while searching for an answer and they all appear to be LG OLED or UHD TVs.  

Please tell the developers to look into connecting to an LG TV with HDR and see if they can figure out what the game is doing that messes up the HDR on the TV.  

It is definitely something within the game that is doing this, since I play several other HDR 4k games by EA on here, like battlefield and battlefront with no issue.  PLEASE just ask the developers to look into the LG TV UHD or LG TV's with HDR and see if they can figure out whats broken there.

Also, prior to the last patch I could play, this issue would happen after I exit Madden.  After the Patch it no longer allows me to play.  It instantly goes to the black screen on my TV.  Sound is still going.

I have the same issue. EA, please fix ASAP.  This is a crazy bug and causes me to have to unplug my computer each time I play Madden. 

I'm experiencing the same issue where the game is purple/yellow while trying to play in full screen on my TV. It's fine in windowed mode or full screen on my monitor and I've tried changing a bunch of settings in game, through Nvidia control panel and the TV itself to no avail. An option to disable HDR/Dolby Vision or even being able to use borderless windowed mode could possibly work until the full screen issue is solved.

Can you guys post the make and specifically the model of your TVs please?

Also, please let us know if setting the display mode options to Auto/Game helps.

It is also possible that not all of the HDMI ports on the TV support HDR/Wide Gamut viewing, so check that you are using the right one.
