Active Negotiations Bug

I have the same issue but on Ps5 in an online CFM with a friend. Mine starts with 6/5 too but he does not have 6/5 active negotiations. His shows 0/5 and works correctly. I retired my owner and took over the coach of the team. This did not fix it. The imaginary negotiations must be either linked to the gamer profile or the franchise, instead of the created character. This really hurts my team's ability to bid on the best players in free agency. 

Update: we are now 2 seasons later. My last off season I was still at 6/5 active negotiations in free agency week one, without having actually made a single bid. This offseason in 2028, it says I have 9/5 in free agency week 1. I have not made a single bid yet and it's showing 9/5 active negotiations. This really needs to be patched. It's absolutely killing my franchise. I have 105 million in cap and can't even make bids on any of the top free agents. 

I am on PS4, offline, and have the same problem after 3 seasons.  WK1 has me at 21/5  active negotiations, and whem I eval offers it goes to 0/5 until I actually make an offer, then it's back.  I can eval and make another offer, amd then it's back again.  It is extremely frustrating to have a ton of cap room, roster spots to fill, and basically be able to only make 5 offers for the first 2 weeks.

EA fix this it’s f****** pathetic these game breaking bugs are still around. This will be my last Madden. A * month on a game breaking issue and still not fixed. Don’t even get me started on the face of the franchise glitch. Unplayable garbage.  John Madden would be ashamed give up the rights to nfl games you * thieves

Xbox series X and having the same problem, except it’s just 5/5 active negotiations. I have a rookie QB in year three and have had killer drafts so far so I want to spend in free agency. When will this be fixed and will it be fixed in this franchise or will I have to restart?

I have the same problem and I have a theory about what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to happen to me (this 5/5 issue) until I change teams. Most recently I changed teams and I noticed that the next free agency period I had 2/5 slots filled instead of 5/5 like it seems to be when this glitch happens. My guess is that it’s still tracking my previous team and counting their five free agency offers to me. The clue was the 2/5 thing, because in this case my previous team only had two roster spots remaining. Seems to me if this is actually the case it should be easy enough for them to go in and fix it. 

But don’t even get me started on my thoughts on. Wing an unpaid play tester…

This game breaking glitch is still here. How about giving refunds? 

This also exists in our online CFM.  Multiple users have varying degrees of "active negotiations" without having any active negotiations.  I wonder if it's the same teams?  For us, we are in offseason 2, and the Raiders are 21/5, the Chiefs are 4/5, the Seahawks are 3/5, and the Browns are 5/5 (at least, not sure, he hasn't responded, but said he can't make any bids).

I did some testing, and it appears unrelated to the "Re-sign" phase and how many players you negotiate with. For example, the Browns didn't try to re-sign anyone during the re-sign phase and the Seahawks only tried to re-sign one guy and he re-signed, so he shouldn't have had any active negotiations from there.  I personally have all CPU assistance off, so it's not associated with the CPU making offers on my behalf, either.

I am having this same issue still, makes me not want to play anymore because it ruins a huge part of the game.
