Difficulty in game options overriding difficulty in all franchises

On Madden 23 for PC, I set up a new franchise and set the difficulty for it to All-Madden. When I would advance the week, play a game, or go back to the menu it would auto set the franchise's difficulty to All-Pro after I had manually set it to All-madden in the franchise settings.

I checked my other franchises and noticed ALL of my franchises difficulties were being overridden with the one set in my game options, including online ones that I run with members. Manually changing the difficulty back in the franchise settings does nothing, as it seemingly gets auto changed back to my game option one after playing a game, advancing, or going to the main menu. 

This is extremely inconvenient as I am testing all-madden with custom sliders in one franchise yet the difficulty keeps getting re-set back to my game default of all-pro. I cannot change my main game difficulty to all-madden as it will override the all-pro difficulty set in my online franchise with 30 members. Is there any way around this until it is fixed?
