Madden 20 error downloading tuning data

Another Madden not working thread...

Just bought Madden 20.......4/9/20

Installed first time, it says reviewing plays, and other stuff, but it tries to download tuning data, and it fails, i clicked try again many times, nothing

it says downloading roster data, it fails, re-tried several times, it fails...

only options I have are

Level - Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert

(something) - Arcade, Competitive, and Simulation

Favorite Team - (teams)

I press continue, and loads to a pro-bowl video, and gets stuck on a screen showing a random player....

either a refund or fix the problem....

Having a very similar issue.  Did you get this resolved? 

Thank you for your help.   I have the digital version of Madden 20 for Xbox One X.  I've power cycled the system several times and also uninstalled/re-installed.  I have also tried the persistent storage suggestion as well.

Any other remedies you can suggest?  In your experience, are there more issues with the digital version or disc version of the game?

And have you or your team been able to help resolve this issue for others?   I see no way to delete a roster as I cant get into the game.  This is beyond frustrating as other games work as soon as they're installed.  Thanks again.

I haven't seen any direct correlation of one type of copy having more issues than the other in regards to this. Have you tried clearing the game saved data under My Games & Apps>Highlight Madden 20>Press Start>Manage Game>Cleared Game Saved Data for local and cloud?

Have you tried going wired instead of WiFi or vise-versa for your XB1? I know going wired is not always possible and asking you to move the console towards the router to try and download it can be inconvenient but it can help us narrow down whether it could be WiFi related.

It could be related to the cloud data on your Gamertag too. Try removing the Gamertag from your Xbox and re-add it. 

My Xbox one x is currently wired, I can try using Wifi instead.  Are you saying that the game may be crashing because of a bad internet connection / dropped packets? 

I will try clearing the saved games again, though last time I tried there was no saved game data as I wasn't able to open the game.

I will also try removing the gamer tag from my xbox and see if that makes a difference.

Just wondering, do these issues on the message board get relayed to the game developers?  Are they aware of the issues?

I swapped from wired internet to wifi.  I removed saved games and reserved data.  I restarted console several times.  I changed DNS from automatic to google servers and back.  I tried a new MAC address....

I was able to get into the pro bowl game and it froze during the kickoff on two different occasions. 

One, while kicking, the game froze.  Made as strange buzzing sounds and the consol turned off. 

Two, while receiving and running back the kick off the game froze.  Strange sound and then crash.

If the game is downloaded to my xbox and I'm playing single player, why would these network settings affect performance? 

What else can you suggest?  I am waiting for my xbox to reboot for the 100th time so I can try the gamertag suggestion.

I removed and re added the gamertag.  Started the game, received the kick  and returned it for 10 yds.   Lined up on first down and before I could hike the ball, the game froze, buzzed, and console off.

What else can I do to fix this?
