I had the same issue and got it resolved. My xbox account was linked to an old deleted EA acccount. When I went to reset my password, I entered the password to an EA account (a new, different one, using a different email address) that my XBOX account was NOT linked to. Thus the error recurred. Once I reset the password to my old (deleted) EA account, I was able to link it to my XBOX account through the ea help login page. Wallah, it works now.
@HandsomeAmazing You had to re-open this old deleted account and reset THAT password right? If so, I’m SOL because I can’t reset that password, because the email the reset link would go to has been erased by its host server, and doesn’t work. It isn’t recoverable.
@EA_Aljo I have spoken with 5 different EA advisors. They all claim they can do nothing. I either resurrect my Deleted account, with an email I can’t access, or they say that they are sorry but can’t help me..
So the developers of a Game, the owners of the game, ALL the people with the access to the platform which I have an account on, don’t have the authority to simply erase something they have dominion over in the first place? Wow..

Well there is an answer to this MAYBE. You would have to create a new microsoft account and a new EA account (making sure that the new EA account isn’t linked to a prior EA account email address). Then you could request a refund for the first purchase of madden. Then you purchase madden on the new account. Then you link your new microsoft account to your new EA account. You could then access online features. But you would have to switch your account to the new one every time just to play madden, and you would have to friend request all ur friends on the new account just to play madden with them. All BS. Super dumb system and 0 foresight from microsft/EA into these problems.

Respectfully nobody is making a whole new account to play madden. Plus we shouldn't even have to we spent $60 plus on a game we can't play.

It's not about having the authority to make this change to your account. The problem is that you can't verify ownership of the account without having access to the email on it. No changes can be made until ownership is verified.

After three days of not working finally is works like I don’t know what to say

mine still doesn't work unfortunately it worked once the other night but it doesn't work again
- 4 years ago@EA_Aljo How can you do that if you can't even verify because you don't know or have access to old email or account

@EA_Aljo Don’t you think, the fact that it is presently linked to my PSN is verification enough? It is a dead account. Already deleted. No one is using it. Why is a “potential” owner, of a dead account, being give the respect to have their data kept in limbo, while ME, the owner of an actual account, being told to shove it when he simply wants access to use what he purchased?
why is this such a hard thing?

I'm very sorry, but this isn't something I can help with. You'll need to contact an advisor.
