I've had this same error for weeks now. This seems to be the only mode that is affected. MUT (their cash piggy $$) of course isn't affected, neither is Quick Vs mode. I haven't tried Multiplayer Online Vs or Francishe mode.
Are you on windows? I'm on Steam Deck, after EA was bought by whatever Saudi/middle eastern company, there was news they'd just straight up stop supporting Steam OS/Linux...because a multi billion dollar company can't be bothered to port or support their "anti-cheat" malware properly. It's bad enough the game has the ridiculous "alway-online" requirement, for people like me who just want to play single player only. This is why the "Stop Killing Games" movement exists, once ea decides to shut off the servers, you're left with useless $60 digital ewaste. Refusing to make the game single player has zero excuse for end-of-life products they aren't going to support anymore.
If there's no response or fix from EA over this, than just gotta do the only thing consumers can do, be heard with your wallet. Don't buy EA stuff. I won't. Not even Steam sales or deep discounts. Not even free. At least until they understand or change course. I know it's idealistic, but enough people do it, & they will notice. They care about $$$ FAR more than a bad reputation.
Somehow, EA has managed to further drag their name & rep through the mud. It's like they're speedrunning "how to bankrupt your company any%". They're on gold splits so far.
Fix this ea. Stop pissing off your playerbase & ruining what little good grace you have with gamers left. There's too many good indie game devs out now with too many good games eating away at attention & retention.

Thanks everyone for replying here! It’s good (and also frustrating) to see that I’m not the only one getting this exact same error.
Radiolint, I play on PlayStation, so I’m not really sure what the plans are for PC, but yeah, it’s rough. You made a good point — I only came back to Madden 23 to achieve the trophies before buying Madden 26, but this error is getting so annoying that I don’t even feel like buying the new one or EA FC anymore.
If they don’t fix this soon, I’ll probably just buy some other game that doesn’t need to be online all the time just to play an “offline” mode.
Let’s wait and see what kind of response EA gives us for this issue — that’ll probably tell us how we move forward from here.
