Does anyone know if this issues also affects online franchises? I greatly prefer being offline but if online are not having this I would consider going that route. It's just feels like if this issue was gonna be resolved it already would have by now.

Here is a detailed bug report I gave on this issue for madden 22. My goal was to help the dev team repeat the process and hopefully find a fix so that it would not bleed into madden 23. I spent many hours testing this to try and help your devs find the root of the issue. Feel free to use the report again... I broke both the ps4 and ps5 versions of offline franchise.

This has been a problem for many of us since October of last year. I held out to buy this years version so that I could see if this issue had been resolved or not. I am thankful I held out.
Thank you for addressing this Kent, I believe that you have our best interest at heart and I hope that the team can get this fixed quickly.
The problem is that most of us have been sitting on this issue and unable to play our game for over a year. I see names that were complaining last year along side with me that tested to trying and help find this issue. Our hard work fell on deaf ears. We were told constantly that it would get sent to the devs, but the issue was never fully resolved. It is getting to a point where it feels like instead of sending things to the dev team we need to start sending things to popular gaming news outlets. This needs some urgency. It has been over a year and we still can't play offline franchise mode.
We are not asking for much. We simply want to play franchise without worrying about consistently losing our save files!
Please keep us updated Kent. I appreciate you looking into this. We have been left in the dark for a while on this issue and would be extremely grateful to see it resolved.
It is very disappointing that Franchise gets ignored as much as it does. Between this and the sim stat (which took forever for them to address) ruining my favorite mode. I wish I could say I was hopeful but the devs don’t care about a mode that brings little value. I appreciate the work the Community Managers do but unfortunately they can only do so much.
- @ichad28 yeah I completely agree with you. They need to rebuild this game from the ground up in order to fix the many issues it has. At this point this game has more bugs than fear Factor.🤣
@EA_Kent PS5 PSN: asquad20. Only imported draft classes in year 1 and 2 and now I’m in year 6, where the error occurred. Happened in mid season trying to start my week 11 game, can’t load the save or the auto save. It happened at the end of week 11 earlier today after the final whistle, got an error, but was able to load the hard save, not the auto save. Now none of them load. Same thing happened last year and made me stop playing. I want my $100 refund considering I bought the upgraded version. This is a joke
After finishing a game in franchise mode, the game crashed and I am not able to load into my franchise.
This has been happening in madden 21, 22 & now no change in madden 23. I just want to play the game I paid for but apparently this is a permanent issue and this is not what I paid for so I would like to take steps to get my money back. I feel like such a fool buying this game again. These performance issues are unacceptable and a waste of my time.3 years in a row, I can’t play the game I paid for. This will be my last year if this isn’t fixed. This is pathetic. Ready for 2k to make a football game
Is this seriously happening again? I went out and bought Madden 23 only to find out that not only does Field Sense (the game mechanic that you have been pumping up and advertising) DOES NOT EVEN COME WITH THE PC GAME? Disappointed but still wanting to play Madden, I shrugged and simmed ahead 10 years (as is my custom) and tried to start my offline game. I got it where I wanted, saved and here I am. For the second year in a row you put out a game that CANNOT BE SAVED! I'm to the point where I'm not even mad at EA. I'm mad at myself for thinking maybe this was the year that the game would be worth the money. I always think that and EA ALWAYS puts out a game that is unfinished even though its essentially the same exact game as Madden 22 (almost literally in my case because apparently the PC version is just a reskinned Madden 22.)

Summarize your bug Offline franchise won't start. When clicking on a saved game it doesn't load the franchise. But hey, the game modes that don't matter to me work, so there's that.
How often does the bug occur? Every time I start an offline franchise dating back to when Madden 22 first came out... so over a year if you include the equally broken previous game which had THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
Steps: Make new offline game. Pour hours into your game, then save. Then you simply try to load your game. Final step is feel like you bought a $60 game that can't be played and wonder why it is you buy a broken game every year.
What happens when the bug occurs? It starts the loading process but immediately goes back to the screen where you can access your saved games
What do you expect to see? In the short term, I expect to see a game where I can save and load my previously saved data. Long term, maybe actually spend resources making a game that is ready for release.

I tried it and it does not work this is horrific. EA I have informed my my credit card company and I will be performing a Charge back (since you refuse to give me a refund)

The silence has spoke for itself.
A simple "We really don't know how to fix this. We are sorry and understand that this has taken so long. We are trying to figure it out before the next title update" or "This issue is so rare that we just don't feel it merits address". Would go along way. Anything but silence though. Silence is an insult at this point.
Silence leaves me clinging onto a false hope that some sort of fix may actually be coming in the next title update, but I have been clinging onto that "next title update" hope for so long now with no real fix.
We can't let this thread die off though. This has been two long years and we don't have another football game to turn to. So, if these guys want to continue to strangle the market then they need to fix this.
This will never be addressed. This is a scummy company that feeds on their consumers. This issue has remained relevant for 4 years now and they have never made an effort to fix this. My guess is that the bug is so deep in the system now that there's years of layering over franchise mode that the only way to fix this is to start from ground zero. I am someone who has played this game for 22 years straight and has reached the limit until they start from scratch. I suggests you all do the same, because the product will not be fixed until it has lost its base. We let blueberry pretend to sympathize for the past year and now they brought in @EA_Kent whom has provided the same lack of enthusiasm towards resolving this issue. They do not care. This message will be taken down because it is bashing the game/developers but I encourage everyone here to carry this on. The game needs a complete reboot that comes with the college football game coming next year.
I just can't believe that this is happening again this year. Just played game 17 of 2028 and hit "Finish Game" to have the game reset - and, of course, my files are now corrupted and will not load. I made a ton of posts with y'all last year and had many of them deleted. Fact is EA doesn't care. And guys like me are exactly who to blame. Said over and over I wouldn't buy the game and then I did to be sucker-punched again.

This is happening to me too, edited playbook, then went to load Franchise and won't load.

Happens regardless of whether or not you import a draft class FYI -- also, when the error happens (game crash) it corrupts MULTIPLE save files.

So can one play more than four and a half seasons in franchise mode without corrupting the file? I am getting tired of Madden 20.

To add onto this thread and hopefully bump it back up so EA might slightly care, NO this issue IS NOT fixed!
I was running the latest version of the game on Series S (yes I used custom draft classes for the first three seasons, but I should be able to use a basic feature of the game) and I had coach firing off.
I made it to year 2033 and in week 15 that’s where my game decided it was done. It originally crashed after the game was over, but luckily I had multiple back up files. I played to that game again and as super sim was going in the 4th quarter it crashes again, so I gave up.
I contacted EA back in September when I lost my first franchise for a refund. Nothing they could do. I reached out this time in hopes of just getting the same compensation the people that lost their franchises in December are getting. They can’t do it to single accounts apparently.
I’m beyond over the laziness shown by this company. You can find Reddit posts from back in Madden 21 describing this same issue. You’ve now shipped THREE games with the same issue and made no attempt to fix it (or just change you verbiage… Tell us we only have 10 years of a franchise instead of 30)! Even though franchise was supposed to be oh so great this year, you continually show that you only actively care about game modes that make you passive money after the point of sale. Fix this issue or drop the franchise rights to a company that actually cares! You’re actively scamming a large part of the NFL fan base by taking our money and not acknowledging or addressing our issues.
- @zwroberts1 what version of the game do you have on xbox? all i can tell you is that was definitely fixed on my PS5 as of version 1.007.000 (several months ago). it is technically possible that it could be fixed on one console but not the other, but i would find that very surprising since virtually all of the code at that level is shared.
