Re: Madden 23 Won't Launch

I "might" have a workaround everyone!... On the PS5 anyway, might work on other platforms too... 

On PS5 go into settings > Network.  Disable connect to internet.  Then open Madden 23.  You will get a message about some things not being available unless you are logged into your EA account, just click ok.  The game will finally load past the initial loading screen and you will get to the main menu.  Click the middle PS button, go back to settings > network and re-enable connect to internet.  Now go back into the game and hit R2 to log into EA.  It will spin for a bit in the bottom right corner, but mine did connect.  I verified I was online by checking for latest live content.  

I did not have time to try an online game or anything, but it did appear I was online.  

After I did this, I closed madden and went back in with internet connected and unfortunately I still have the issue, but at least I might have a workaround for now... or maybe forever because i doubt EA is going to anything about it.

Oh man, that sucks!  Well, I saw in another post someone decided to just create a new EA account.  LIke I mentioned previously on all these threads, my sons profile which has his on EA account works on the same PS5.  So I think there is something going on with "some" accounts.  I have no idea why or what happened.  It is pretty upsetting especially if you have certain accomplishments tied to your EA account.  

I'm hoping my workaround on the ps5 works.  I didn't have time to try an online game or anything, but it did at least show I was logged into my EA acct in the game, so I'm hopeful.  I'll have to try it out tomorrow night.  

It took me further into the game more I was able to all day but right when I connect to internet my game crashes 

Luckily for me, the only thing I do on Madden is an off-line franchise, so I just disconnected my ethernet and could do what I normally would do. Still not an optimal work around, especially if I ever want to do anything involving internet on my PC at the same time.

Same problem occurs to me on ps5 keep getting error code ce-108255-1 while loading the game. Can boot the game without internet connection though. But whenever I connect to the internet error code ce-108255-1 pops up. I also bought the game during last sale. 

I just now was able to get in with no problem with my internet connected. Hoping it's the same for you guys now.

Yup mine still crashing every time. It’s gotta be the game cause I have never been banned on a ea game. I’ve tried switching my game from console storage to internal still not working

My friend is having this issue. We are currently waiting on him to advance our franchise. But yes, he did have ea play and has expired.

@EA_Barry I’ve never had an EA subscription. Currently trying to play the game via Steam and never used the EA launcher until downloading Madden 23. 

I don’t have ea play I did few years ago. I’ve had madden from day one pre ordered it never had issues until yesterday now I can’t play on ps5 I buy packs for MUT all the time wish I could play cause imma lose out on LTD cards and the CFP player if I can’t play all week

@EA_Barry I have never had an ea play subscription i purchased the game a few days ago and was able to play normally till yesterday.

@EA_Barry ... I've never had a EA subscription to my knowledge.  This just started yesterday for me.  I was playing fine the day before.  

I found what I hope is a workaround which is to disable internet on my ps5, open madden, hit ok on the warning about not being logged in and it actually loads the game fine this way.  Then I will minimize Madden 23, re-enable internet in the ps5 settings, then go back into madden and hit R2 to log into EA.  It logs in fine.  What I don't know yet is if all online services works and function normally.

I haven’t had a subscription in over a year.

This is definitely account related.  Again, my son's works on the same PS5 that I experience the issue.  He has his own PS5 account and EA acct.  

I saw someone else mention unlinking the ps5 and ea accts and creating a new ea account or something.  I don't want to lose my online stats or anything.  I'm hoping this helps someone or helps EA help us.

I saw I had a Madden update.  I tried it just moment ago and it worked.
