The age old question… sim vs comp for franchise?

Hey guys, 

im wanting to start a franchise in 23 but I have no idea which game style to use when game releases. I keep seeing mixed feedback on both SIM and COMP. This will be a 32 user league

i realize sim has more random events, but does COMP not have penalties/long term injuries?  Do player rating not matter in COMP?  

any detailed feedback would help greatly
