@EA_Blueberry Thank you for confirming what has been said about the exclusivity of FieldSense. As per the original question, can you get an explanation as to why?
@MrMonkeylicious
I've already passed along the sentiment we're seeing here from the PC community and asked if there is an answer as to why the team went in this direction. If there any updates on this we will share it here.

@EA_Blueberry thank you for forwarding the questions asked. It is just really frustrating for people who have more than enough hardware to be passed on again of playing madden, I just hope EA realises they dropped the ball here. In steam you have more football games, yes made by idie devs. For example maximum football just lacks in game gameplay but has honestly a better franchise system than madden has. Secondly we can get the roster updates from mods. Why would we pay 60dollars for a roster update, that is what madden 23 last gen is at this point, if we can get it for free? Honestly I think that I speak for everyone who plays madden on PC, the lack of crossplay and the full game experience is hurting your sales and pushes a lot of potential buyers away. We won't buy a console for madden alone. We want to play the full on the best systems and those systems are not a playstation 5 or an xbox series X or S. I know we are not your main sales, but then don't release a version on the game where no one asked for, and pass on us entirely, that is the feeling EA is giving usyway.

Thank you for making our voices heard. I've been playing Madden since Madden NFL 2004 on the PC. Since then, I bought all the Madden games on the Wii, Xbox 360, and PC. I was thrilled when Madden came out on PC again because I have no new consoles. Immediately, I poured hundreds of hours into Madden 19, 20, and 21. When I learned that Madden 22 wasn't getting next-generation features, I couldn't justify spending another $60 for a game without its main new features. Soon afterward, I couldn't download or use rosters on the PC version, making me stuck with old players and player ratings. I stopped playing. I understood not being able to port features in the first year of development for next-gen consoles, but in the second year too? I see now that PC isn't a priority for EA Sports, and that we will never receive the caliber of games we expect. I've seen the changes over twenty years of development, and Madden has come such a long way. It makes me sad that other die-hard fans like myself have to watch the Series improve from the sidelines. You guys lost me as a customer, but more importantly, you lost credibility as game developers. Without proper support you will lose all of your old school players, including me.

Saying Madden is Improving is a long shot. There are almost 20 year old football games that perform miles better than any madden in the past 10 years. 2k8 makes madden look absolutely terrible. Madden needs completely redone. 2k Is coming back and maximum with the new unreal engine. EA has competition coming and I'm begging for them to lose their license. Until then I refuse to pay for a reskinned madden 22. I'll just mod the * out of 22 for free and end up with a better game than madden 23 will be anyways. I suggest everyone else on PC do the same.
I have much more to say on the subject but it's not even worth it anymore
