1 year not porting next gen to PC is understandable. 2 years not doing it is pushing the limit. 3 years not doing it says they don't care at all about their customers on the PC platform. There is no justifiable reasoning at this point not to port it. As far as I can tell, all you get for the $60 purchase price currently listed on Steam is a roster update and a tribute cover of John Madden. Ridiculous. Will not be buying the game again this year. I'll wait until it's added to the vault for free on my EA Play account like I did last year. But honestly, since Sabo, the modder who fixes all the Franchise and AI issues, has already said publicly he's out this year and every year going forward, I probably won't play it much even then.
In the future, EA, if you're going to release a PC port of the game, either actually put the same effort into it as you do for the console bois, or don't bother with the port to PC at all. Very disappointing!
This is so stupid, been buying Madden every year since 12.. This is it, I'm done.
- 4 years ago@Ingijudo Agreed. My football gaming goes all the way back to the original Tecmo Bowl on the NES. I owned every Madden starting from the original up until 2016 when I finally stopped buying it as it was clear at that point they didn't care much about Franchise mode anymore and I had moved on from console gaming to PC gaming anyway. Haven't bought it since then and only have played it last year when '22 got added to the vault on my EA Play account.
I still check each year to see if it somehow would be worth buying and getting back into, but it never is. Had high hopes this year they'd really commit to making a good version as a tribute to Coach Madden passing, but it seems like the same copy / paste thing they always do and the no next gen port for PC just solidifies my decision to not buy it again this year. For PC gamers, I don't see any justifiable reason to do so.- Von_PK4 years agoSeasoned Newcomer
This is a cycle every year now. “Why isn’t PC next gen?” Because we are too lazy to fix PC bugs. That’s it. It would require more manpower. I feel like most of their time working is on MUT. The other portion is “fieldsense” which we all know is code word for the actual improvements. So last gen is like a madden patch.
- 4 years ago@YaBoiGarand It's not a bugs issue cause they should be able to make the game operable off of the requirements they set. And its a football game, with pretty natural non speed of sound motions that should be detectable and outlined pretty easily by now. Its their engine, that they've chose, for this long now. Either they're incompetent for not getting a better engine, or they didn't care.
But it's not about that. It's about exclusivity to drive console sales. If there's uptick in Madden 23 sales, and an uptick in console sales, they can correlate that to MADDEN=MONEY. Which will drive the next exclusivity deal, and so forth. This isn't the first time this has happened lol.
I don't really know what you mean by "most of their time working is on MUT". That's all copy and paste, since the main interactive part is the football game. When it comes to the ui and bells and whistles of opening packs and forming the team and everything. Cal Upton on youtube could probably remake all the flashing lights, card reveals, yada yada yada in under a month by himself. It's bad that we as consumers even recognize reskinning and lighting as major work that requires a year to accomplish. I don't pay for these games anymore, and almost did this year. But I don't buy things at launch or preorder anymore, and I can read.
