@TWJanssen Yep, I own Maximum football. Agree with everything you said and play it for the wonderful franchise mode to get my fix for that. I usually just simulate the actual games though, as you said, gameplay is still pretty lacking. Still a fun experience doing it that way, though!
I also play 2K5 and APF 2K8 through emulators. Still the best realistic simulation gameplay I've ever experienced even if the graphics look a little dated now. The player movement is still super fluid and amazing, though and it plays like actual football.
If there was a way to combine Maximum's Franchise mode with 2k8's gameplay now THAT would be an amazing simulation football game!!
So I'll keep doing that for now, as EA seems more interested in every conceivable game mode in Madden other than the actual simulation football mode which is Franchise (which ironically is what their exclusive contract is supposed to be about making, yet MUT and The Yard somehow is what they seem to care about? Not good.).

@o---DaVeX---o The issue with Maximum (and others) is that yeah, the gameplay is lacking, plus it lacks multiplayer. The only way I ever play Madden is multiplayer CFM, so I'm not going to spend $30 on a game I have no use for.
