lost game data on ipad restore

Question

had to get a new ipad because my old one broke. i had a back up of it and i tried restoring the new ipad with the old backup but all my game data was not restored.

apple says it's EA's problem. I emailed EA help and they are no help. said i should post in the forums. wtf?

anyone else run into this issue? what can i do? i was playing as a guest and never linked the game to any account.

shouldnt the backup restore work?

Guest accounts are not restored via backup. The only way to transfer to a new device is by linking your game with Facebook.

If your old device is still functional enough you can still do that, if not then you should link via FB on the new device and your progress will be retained from now on.

This was a development decision and not an oversight.

Creating a FB account just to use for this game is advised.
