MADDEN NFL MOBILE: Friends option not appearing

I play Madden Mobile on both my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, yet I cannot seen the friends tab unless I make a guest account.
If I login through the Facebook button then there is no friends tab.
I do not want to create a dummy account and then linked it to facebook if I lose my current progress.
is there any help to be had?
