I have encountered the same issue with my account. I had bids in on ndamukong suh (96 ovr) and 2 James Harrison (96) for a total of 1.2 million coins. I opened a case and was told that although they were able to verify my claim as valid, they are only able to reimburse 100k in coins. I have spent a reasonably large amount of money on this game and cannot begin to explain how angry I am at this lack of service.
In my last contact (I finally called after getting nowhere in the chat sessions) I was told by a customer service supervisor that they would escalate the case for further review. Within minutes of hanging up the call I received email notification that the case had been closed. So basically, the supervisor flat lied to me to get me off the phone.
I can't believe a company like EA would treat their customers like this. I have been a loyal Madden enthusiast for years, buying a new copy for my Xbox every year for at least the last 10. Posting in the forum is my last effort. If EA doesn't respond to this and resolve my issue, I'm done with you. I will also be contacting my credit card company to have them reverse the charges for my app purchases as a fraudulent charge since I do not have the content I purchased.
