That's really strange. When you have a chance I'd recommend getting in touch with the EA Help team so they can pull up your account and take a look.
For more information on how to set up a case with them check out the EA Help website. If you prefer you can also speak with them over Twitter or Facebook instead, as well.

Sorry I’m getting back to you so late but I think I figured it out. When I logged in I signed in as a guest so I think because I’m a guest it is not allowing me to link my ea account is this true?

Hmm, that's possible. I don't think I've ever actually tried it myself. Can you try connecting your account with Google or your Apple account to see if it lets you connect with your EA Account after that?

For some reason when I connect my apple to that account it still will not let me link my ea account

Thank you for giving that a shot and letting me know. I think the best option would be to get in touch with EA Help so they can take a look at your accounts. They may be able to identify if there are any issues that would be preventing them from linking.
The links in my post from earlier in this thread should point you in the right direction for setting up a case with them.
