Stats above 120

I’ve noticed that while stats are capped at 120 regardless of boosts, this does not apply (at least when scouting an opponent) in situations where the boost is only intended to apply to a given play type or down, such as long pass or on 3rd down. My TOTY boosts won’t let me go over 120 in a given category, but if I sub in a top 100 player who has a team boost on long passes, as demonstrated in the attached screen shots, then the number goes above 120. I’d appreciate a better explaination as to how this works, because it seems like a glitch to me. It doesn’t seem fair that my TOTY boosts are less effective than boosts that are only intended to apply to a particular play type, defensive scheme, or down/distance given how much I invested to get those players.
