Just an update regarding this:
Originally, EA had introduced the auto-fill function alongside any trades that supported sliders in hopes of saving us a step in the process. However, it only seemed to cause more confusion than anything. Although it looked like your player cards were trapped inside the trades, if you navigated away from the trade, all slotted cards/resources were automatically removed so they weren't "trapped" in the trade.
With the reported frustration and confusion it has caused since being implemented, they have decided they will be removing slider trades for the time being. In the meantime, they are repurposing the slider functionality so that they don't auto-add items anymore to trades. Therefore, the confusion with auto-fill should not be an issue moving forward since it'll no longer occur with these slider-supported trades.The slider functionality without auto-fill should return potentially within the next week or two.
