Why does it seem like no matter what I'll never get a Combine Base Player?

I'm giving the Combine all I've got for the past few days & I have basically all of the collectables for every set. I've noticed that outta all my games I have not pulled not 1 Combine base Player & ...

    50k on pro packs is nothing. I've opened more than 300 packs and pulled 2 gold combine players. From what I've read, you can only pull the gold players from packs, not from the event.

        Who me? Let's see, I sold the 2 gold combine players for 800K after tax and after selling everything else (a few 94+) I'm up about 500k (at least I don't remember having 6.5M in coins before I started ripping packs over the weekend)
