Advent related to Collective?

Okay, started a brand new game. The advent guy on Eos, the one that asks you to let them mine natural gas. He is wearing the same armor as all the collective raiders on Kadara. This play through the Outcasts are not wearing the armor. I haven't seen missing arms either. The others from Eos are wearing initiative armor. I haven't done much in Elaaden yet. I wonder if this means the collective will try to take down Tann at some point? Reyes and the Eos advent guy both say they want peace but refuse to live under Tann's authority. Could be why Reyes survives even if you choose Sloan. Theories?

i'm on the fence about this. it is possible that advent is a collective front, or could be that the scout, and only the scout is collective, as in advent hired him via the collective as a merc, or he's doing it freelance... or he might just be wearing collective armor. so, quite a few possibilities.

  • What I wonder a lot about these days if things like this have a specific purpose and meaning or if they are things that had a specific meaning but under pressure of pushing the game out have been abandoned and are now meaningless.

This is the sort of thing where I would've expected a follow up from that encounter but there just isn't. So why put it in there at all? I could've done the Architect quest without ever talking to these guys and it wouldn't have made a difference.

So to me it's just something they abandonded and forgot about. Perhaps though there was an original plan to have some sort of conspiracy thing planned. Just don't think it's there anymore.

  • Think Bioware is planning to save advent as a subsequent plot for MEA2 or a DLC...  Or perhaps link it up with another more powerful entity like the benefactor?  However I wont be surprised if they totally drop the storyline, they have too many open stories that have not been done to full potential.  Kind of like the whole Haestrom in ME2 that was mentioned but didnt progress.

  • There was an idea out there at one point that Advent was created and controlled by Mr. Thax from ME2, which I find to be both plausible and really entertaining, since he was both powerful and entertaining, despite the fact that we never met him

  • Remind me, who was Mr. Thax?

I wonder if somebody did something because the Outcasts have a different armor and insignia that I don't remember seeing in the game. They all had AI or red armor until I sided with Collective. Then it was all red armor or tan armor with Collective red insignia. The armor on the Outcasts is now a blue omega symbol. I think they will have to resolve the Outcast/Collective fight at some point.

I did make it back to Meridian. Scott is still mia along with the ancient AI. I was able to complete all the missions except the Roakar manifestos or whatever it is. I really liked how the quest about renaming habitat 7 appeared after Meridian.

The scenes where the light was too bright were fixed. The hud now shows how to actually depart the planet from the nomad. Peebee being in the party didn't seem to affect the charge ability.

Some of the weapons seem to be more balanced also. That could just me, it takes me a while to really get combat down.

All in all, I wish this was less frustrating and appealing than my first game.

We never met him, in ME2 at Illum, during samara's recruitment mission, shep have the option of informing this chap called thax about some stolen goods of his, by doing so a krogan will show up the next time shep goes to illum and gives him some creds from thax.  What surprised me and annoyed me a little(was playing paragon) was that I got renegade points for helping him out!!  Think that suggest that he's a bit of a crime boss...

you can read more from the wiki below if you wish.😃

I do remember that. You would think helping someone know about embezzling would be a good thing. Thanks for reminding me.

I have a feeling Advent will end up being pro-human. It seems like Ryder is the only person who isn't my species first. The only real pro-human comments I can remember is if you save Raika, you can choose 'if it was my people I was saving, I would of done the same thing' and with Kelly after Meridian, you can say Meridian is human territory. When you really start to pay attention, non-crew members seem to be their species first, except Drack. I wish there would of been more info on the colonization aspects; how they expected things to work politically before they left the milky way.

The leadership on the colonies seem to be mostly human, if not all. Does that mean humans decide who gets to live there? I like having specifics/detailed lore.

Think Vetra and sid isnt pro turians simply because they left their culture at a young age.  Peebee seemed to dislike her own race, little rebel...  Cora is pro-asari... Ryder is pro-hyperion which is majority human(can tell with a comment when the contagion quest started).
