Bioware Social Site billing/purchasing problem

Problem: social.bioware.com is not allowing me to purchase ME2 DLC with a credit card. I'm having trouble getting in touch with technical support regarding this issue. Looking for a solution or another way to acquire DLC for non-origin version of ME2.

More details:

I recently purchased ME2 via Steam and am trying to purchase Bioware points at social.bioware.com so I can buy the Shadow Broker and Kasumi - Stolen Memory DLC. I've tried using two different credit cards, and both of them have not allowed me to complete the transaction. I contacted my bank to see if the issue was on their end, but they told me there were no problems and even pre-authorized the purchase for me. There's even a $1 pending charge on my account to show that credit card info was submitted correctly. But social.bioware.com gives me a message that says they are unable to charge my card.

I contacted EA help regarding this issue, but despite his efforts, the support rep I talked to was unable to access the system or pull the necessary info for troubleshooting this particular issue. He redirected me to social.bioware.com's support. However, all the support links on Bioware's website link back to EA customer support. I cannot seem to find any information for contacting Bioware tech support. The EA rep told me to try sending an email to support@social.bioware.com, which I did several hours ago, but I have not received a reply.

Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

It figures that I finally figure out the solution after posting on a forum.

I found out it is possible to purchase Bioware points from the Origin Store. Origin accepted my CC info and credited my social.bioware.com account with the points. It would be nice if social.bioware.com's purchasing page redirected to the Origin Store's Bioware point listings. I would love to know how I might notify bioware.com tech support of this issue, but at least I found a workaround.

EA's Help Center is the official tech support for Bioware's activities (we in here are separate from that department, entirely).

This post, which is stickied at the top of this forum, seems to contradict that statement.

From that post: "At the beginning of October Chris Priestly announced on the BioWare Blog that the tech forums on the BioWare Social Network (BSN) would be locked at some point and the tech support would be moved to Answer HQ."

Doesn't that mean that this is now also the tech support forum for Bioware Social Network? Did I misunderstand?

Yes, you certainly did.  Social's self-help forums were closed two months ago.  Those were NEVER for any "Official" contact at all.  These forums replaced those, and remain the same.  They are gamer to gamer communications places.  Official support was ALWAYS via the Game Advisers at the Help Center.

    P. S.  I haver posted the "Idea" to correct the terminology used in those stickied posts, here:

I realize that this is a gamer to gamer forum. I tried getting help from EA Help Center and they did not/could not help (though they should have been able to tell me to get Bioware points from the Origin store instead of BSN). I know a fellow gamer is not going to be able to solve my billing problem directly—that's asburd—but I see no reason why a fellow gamer could not have pointed me toward the Origin store as an alternative place to purchase Bioware points. Is this not a reasonable forum in which to ask for/provide such information?

I decided to offer feedback regarding this issue to an EA Game Advisor. First, they should have told me to get Bioware points from the Origin store, and second, if the issue is affecting all social.bioware.com users (it did reject two credit cards of mine, so I suspect there may be a wider issue), they need to fix the social.bioware.come website, if EA tech support is indeed responsible for it.

So I wanted to offer both those points as feeback to EA Help Center. Oddly enough, they told me to post the feedback here. Everyone wants to pass the buck it seems. I was going to post the chat transcripts here to prove it, but I am concerned that might get someone in trouble or violate some rules. There is a lot of conflicting information reaching users from various sources affiliated with EA.

There are a few too many stupid Muppet types, and if anything at all departs from the scripts they want to follow word for word, they are lost entirely and likely to say anything at all.  This place isn't THEIR backup at all -- THEY are OUR backup.  Simple.

Sometimes it takes more than one try to get a real person on the other end who can actually THINK and manage to handle things that their scripts didn't anticipate.
