[BUG] ME1 Framerate drop after killing docile salarians on Virmire

When killing the docile salarians in their cell on Virmire, the framerate is reduced to an unplayable level. Saving and reloading doesn't fix it. Shutting down the game and resuming also doesn't work...

I experience the same symptoms: Regardless of the dialog path, if I kill the docile salarians, my framerate drops to 5 FPS. The only corrective course is to reload from before the event.
