[BUG] ME1 Framerate drop after killing docile salarians on Virmire

3070 with 466.27, same problem.

They're probably dead anyway. I doubt they can run as fast as Rana Thanoptis. 😛

And now i need to play the whole planet again like wtf...

Does not seems to be hardware specific, same issue with my gear:

nVidia RTX3080 (Driver version 466.27)

I've experienced the same thing in both instances. After the Dr. Heart cutscene and the insane Salarians cutscene the frame rates drop. Loading from save stops it, repeating the action repeats it. You can bypass it on Virmire by not killing the Salarians. You cannot bypass the Dr. Heart one. The Virmire cutscene is low enough FPS and deep enough into the mission to be, uh...quite literally unplayable. You're not finishing that mission to get back to the Normandy. The Dr. Heart one doesn't give as much of a drop and the proper behavior is restored after returning to the Normandy, which is a quick, enemy free jaunt away.

Also had this problem. Doesn't matter if you hesitate or just go for the kill - it bugs out to unplayable framerate. All other dialogue options don't result in the bug. Unfortunately I need the renegade points at this point so my game will be on pause until this gets fixed.

Steam version of the game.

Same problems here, both with Dr. Heart and with imprisoned Salarians on Virmire. Hefty fps drop after the action finishes, with no way to remedy the problem except reloading an earlier save or leaving the area.

I just lost a chunk of progress due to this, because I stopped hard saving at every corner and mainly utilized the quicksaves. Had to use an earlier Autosave.

edit: As RagnarokCzD said above, it's possible to kill the Salarians if you first clear the path until you reach the Beacon where you ...

...  go back the path you have cleared, then trigger the killing of the Salarians if you want the Renegade points, then endure the 5 fps-walk-of-shame back to the beacon. Somewhere along the way, the framerate will stabilize and everything is fine again.

Same issue here, instant fps drop after killing the salarians.
Quick save/quick load does not work.
Restarting the game does not work.

I also got the framerate issue with Dr. Heart in the MSV Fedele and it solved itself when coming back to the Normandy.

I came to report this issue as well.

I had this issue pop up after a few other cut scenes as well most often with cutscenes where you need to kill a salarian. But this was the only one where reloading the save or the entire game did not fix it. Had to leave the poor mindless salarians to their fate.
