Cannot launch games after latest Origin update

So what happens is, I launch Origin, I try to launch Mass Effect 3, and... Nothing happens. I open the Task Manager to see that the memory usage is sitting at 2k and not moving, Origin tells me I am playing, but I don't even have a game window open. Surfed around old topics in the ME forums and it told me that this is a common Origin issue - every time you get an update, you cannot access your game. This, in my opinion, makes either the updates useless, or Origin itself useless. So, please, help me out, because I want to play the product I paid for.
