Cannot Save ME1

I'm getting an error everytime ME1 LE tries to save.  I kept crashing to desktop right after the bioware logo so I came here and found a workaround using a different launcher.  Game launches just fine now but I cannot save at all.  I thought it may have been some custom permissions I had set on My Documents so I spent the last two hours reverting every group policy and folder/file permissions in my entire Users directory.  That's not the problem.  I'm running as administrator account.  I simply do not have any explanation.  I feel like the problem with the save is a similar problem with the launcher.

I have NO antivirus, windows defender, HIPS from Comodo, I"ve even turned off Comodo entirely.  This has happened to me in no other game.  What is wrong?  I have 200 games on steam but why is this one causing so many problems for me?

  • @LegatoNK9000 Ok well I guess I figured it out, I think there's some secret component to win10 that if the C drive gets too full it just starts locking your folders into read only. It's inexplicable and I can find no information on why this has happened and why it only happens with very rare apps.

I just migrated my entire Documents folder to my storage drive and it saved no problem. I figured it was a permissions issue but that should not be true. I honestly do not think that any app should default save data to windows 10 locations (appdata, mydocuments, etc). That is a very poor practice imo.
