Can't create new character due to save data (PS4/PS5)

I started playing MEA at launch on my PS4 and I've played through on a few characters. I started to run into an issue with having too many saves on the PS4 and never resolved the issue. Now, I've installed the game on PS5 and deleted a ton of saves as well as all but 4 versions of Ryder (3 are completed games, 1 is at 20% ). 

I want to start a new game (not plus) but I keep getting an error that I have reached the save limit. I don't want to keep deleting saves if the problem is something related to save data that is not on the PS5. Could the Server side, PSPlus or saves or on the PS4 be the issue? I deleted at least 20 saves (and 3 new characters) from the PS5.

What is the best course of action?

    Hey @TKMcClone, 

    It could be something with the cloud saves on PS+. Have you checked to see if all the saves are still backed up there from when you were playing on PS4?

    Thanks for the reply.  I ended up just deleting old saves until I could create a new game. I really only need the last couple saves incase the world state / character is needed for the next ME game.
