Can't Download DLC
I purchased the DLC for ME3, but I can't install it. I click the orange download button, the message "Preparing download" pops up, and then the button changes back to "Download now" or whatever it i...
Trying this method as we speak. I'll put the details up of what happened once I've tried it.
Alas no, nothing came of this. I am still unable to download the DLC, and when I did download the DLC, as it only allowed me to do it once, it refused to Install. But thanks for the advice, its more than anyone over at EA seems to be doing. I don't want to just mindlessly bash them, but when I can't even contact their live chats, because the website is incomplete and not formatted right, what do you expect? When the community have to provide blind shots in the dark for help because the actual support team are what seems to be ignoring the entire thing? I just want someone, officially to recognise this is a problem and it needs to be fixed. Oh and to play the **bleep**ing content I paid money for. That too.
Which DLC we are talking about? Is it your only DLC for ME3 or do you have others already installed?
Well I haven't tried any other DLC on Origin, because I do not own any other DLC, so I can't say if this specific to just ME3 or Origin for me. Damn me for not buying enough Origin stuff I guess (is that how I should feel or something?)
Sorry to hear about your problem. Unfortunately there's nothing anyone here can do for you.
The AHQ is for "player-to-player" technical self-help and game-play discussions.
We're all just fellow gamers, doin' the best we can...
Fixing this requires "official" support from the EA Game Advisors.
They are the only ones who can look under the covers at your account and change anything with it.

Sounds like you're having account/code issues.
After getting to the Help Center and filling out the required information, (Product/Problem/Platform)
look for the "Chat Now", "Call Now", or "Email Now" buttons, not the AHQ "Ask Now" one. (You've already done that!)
The options you see may vary depending on your region and the time-of-day.
If you select "Chat Now" or "Call Now", be sure you have enough time (at least one hour) to wait before being connected to someone. 😕mileyfrustrated:
Good Luck!
No not at all.
Check this folder: (disk):\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC
If it exist and has content, close Origin, rename the “DLC” Directory in _DLC or oldDLC whatever you like. Then start Origin as an Administrator and tray the download again.
I can’t say that it will work, but it’s worth trying.
Btw do you have “The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3” installed?
I do have the Final Hours installed, would that make a difference?
OKAY SOMETHING FINALLY GOOD HAPPENED.
I deleted my add on "The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3", and suddenly I was allowed to download and install everything again fine! However, I'm not sure whether this thread should be completely resolved, because it highlights an problematic conflict between the DLC available, and The Final Hours. So perhaps this should be recognised by someone up at EA before we solve the thread, just to notify them of this?
Well, good then. A friend of mine had the same Problem, and after I reinstalled Origin without effect, I tried the method in the post above and deleted “The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3” because he told me that the issue with the downloads started afterwards.
Wasn’t sure which one solved the problem, but now it seems to be clear that “The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3” indeed caused the problem.
Glad I could help btw. 😉
thanks a lot! It really helps 🙂 I had the same problem after uninstallation ME3. I needed to shift the game on another disk and that's why I uninstalled it. And then I installed it again all DLCs were lost and there is no opportunity to download it! Removal of "The final hours..." fixed the problem. Now I can get all my DLCs back :D
I wish I had read your suggestion before I uninstalled the game holger1405 . Now I'm re downloading it and also uninstalled The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3. It takes time
However thanks in advance for your suggestion, I am sure it's gonna work because my problem started after The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3 🙂
this also worked for me! i believe anyone having this issue should know that this is the solution. THANK YOU!
For anyone who find this Thread in search for a solution, you don’t need to uninstall “The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3” at all if you don’t want to.
Close Origin then go to your: (Disk):\Program Files [(x86)]\The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3\TheFinalHoursOfMassEffect3\BIOGame” folder.
If you already downloaded the DLC’s there should be a “DLC” folder, relocate this folder (integrate if you have other DLC’s already installed) into the: (Disk):\Program Files [(x86)]\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame” folder.
Start Origin and try the installation of the DLC’s in Origin again.
Should this not work, rename the “The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3” folder in "_The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3” then restart Origin and download the DLC’s again.
Don’t forget to rename the “_The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3” in “The Final Hours Of Mass Effect 3” after the DLC installation.
