It won't let me resume the game because it says it can't connect to the extended cut I download. Played many times with no issue till now. Any ideas?

I'm also having this issue today. It seems there are some server problems.
Happening to me as well, right after I finally got around to getting the Citadel DLC. Haven't played the game in ages, but thought I'd get Citadel and play through it so I didn't get spoilers for it (reading an ME/Exalted fan-fiction called Glorious Shotgun Princess and some of the chatter on the forum it's posted on hinted at the events in Citadel coming soon).
This works on PC:
If you've authorized the DLC before, play the game in offline mode while being completely disconnected from the internet (disable network devices). The game won't attempt to check the DLC authorization.
I'm also having trouble. First of all, let me give you some scope: I bought ME3 brand new and I own all of the DLC.
So about 2 weeks ago I figured I'd start a brand new character in ME3 (FemShep, Vanguard) for a campaign playthrough. Got about 15 hours worth of gameplay in with no issues whatsoever. First it was something about "Can't connect to EA servers". Now, when I load ME3 I can't get past the "Checking for downloadable content" loading icon. It doesn't freeze, it just endlessly loads. I've had no problems with any other games I've been playing lately.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped. I've played the game often since I bought it (launch day 2012) and have never had a problem. I didn't do anything different on this playthrough and it worked fine for a while, then BOOM, nothing. ☹️
I don't think I have authorised the DLC - I bought it through Origin and then launched the game right after the download finished. The game just crashes before it finishes the EA intro video. I skip that and I get about two seconds past the title screen before the same thing happens. Unless the DLC is authorised on-purchase or in that miniscule window while the game's saying "Connecting to EA Servers", DLC authorisation probably isn't the issue.
EDIT: And I just realised that this was about a totally different bug than the one I'm getting.😕mileyembarrassed: Whoops.
I just cleared the cache on my Xbox 360 and that seemed to do the trick. Wish I had tried that a week ago!
