Cheating in multiplayer, what to do about it?

I just played 3 gold multiplayer missions and 2 of those were with someone having cheats. I know sooner or later every game has cheating going on and fine, if someone wants to cheat in single player, let them. If that's how they get enjoyment out of it no problem. But I really dislike it in multiplayer, PvP or co-op. It kills the fun and challenge out of it.

How much have you seen cheating and how have you dealt it?

Do you have any solutions for Bioware / EA to minimize cheating?

I can think a couple of ways how developers could fix this:

- Ban them from multiplayer. It's easiest and hardest solution, but probably not the best.

- Restrict them to play only with each other. This is a softer solution then just ban them, but it does divide player base more or less. So in a business sense, bad solution.

- Force their character to wear a cone of shame hat and minimize their mission reward. This way people know they are cheaters so can easily avoid them if they want to.

Official guide to reporting cheaters proper way: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/report-players-for-cheating-abuse-and-harassment/

If you know someone cheating, do not post their ID's or names or such to forums or so. Use the proper way via Origin's report function (at least on PC).

  • I've seen my share of cheaters, but I immediately leave if I find out I have infinite ammo/cobra rpgs. The sad part is, the game doesn't have at least overwatch like CS:GO or a strict anti cheat system like in the game Overwatch. IMO they should just do it like Rockstar, put the cheaters together.
